There’s nothing better than spending your birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth. We left our apartment in Paris to spend the next 5 days at Disneyland Paris to celebrate Avery’s 7th birthday!About an hour away from the city, Disneyland Paris is located in the town of Marne-la-Vallée. We decided to stay at the Disneyland Hotel to make it special for her and you can’t beat being connected to the park itself! One of the great things about travelling during the off-season is there are usually great package deals or promotions for staying on site. During our stay we were able to get one night free, and kids stay and play for free!
From the beginning Avery was treated like a princess. She received her birthday pin from concierge and we were off to celebrate in the parks. She received 3 birthday phone calls from Mickey, many birthday greetings from cast members, colouring sheets and even a gift certificate to buy herself a stuffy! She declared that she was too old for stuffies so she let her sister pick one and we got her a princess purse instead. My, she is growing up too fast!
We enjoyed lunch at Bistrot Chez Rémy, the new restaurant in Walt Disney Studios Park. It’s modelled after the restaurant Rémy the rat opens at the end of the movie and the theming is truly amazing. As guests, we are shrunk down to the size of rats and dined on chairs made of bottle caps and tables out of jam jar lids!
For the rest of the day we headed over the Disneyland Park. Thang and Avery headed off to her favourite thrill rides while Lily and I spent most of our time in Fantasyland. We met up again at the end of the night to watch Disney Dreams! the night time fireworks show. As always, Disney lives up to our expectations and it was a great end to a very special day.
Happy 7th Birthday to my little Ladybug! May you enjoy this year of adventure. XOXO
